The Blizzard is Coming!

Tomorrow, Saturday, November 21, 2015, Greenwich Academy will host 16 area teams at the 4th annual Backyard Blizzard! FLL CT state qualifier. This is one of seven official events happening around the state this weekend (and last). Exceptional teams will earn a golden ticket to the CT FLL state tournament on December 5, 2015.

RobotEpic # 5017, GA’s high school robotics FTC team is hosting and running this event. They are excited to host a variety of schools, clubs, and “garage teams” at this event. There will be a special event Hack-A-Thon throughout the event, so be sure to stop by and visit this amazing hacktivity station! There will be plenty of action and concessions to fill our hungry teams minds and bodies! Stop by and join in the fun!

FLL CT Qualifying Event: Backyard Blizzard !!

PrintWith robotics in full swing here at GA and all over the state, the FLL teams are busy preparing their presentations and solutions for the Trash Trek challenge! Their robots are being programmed and customized to complete the challenges on the obstacle course, and they are creating posters and handouts to share with the other teams. PrintThe Backyard Blizzard, a CT FLL event hosted here at Greenwich Academy by the school’s Upper School FTC team, RoboEpic 5017, is less than a month away. As of now, 14 teams will converge on GA bringing with them their talents and creativity. We cannot wait to see their innovative solutions about ways to reduce trash, how they have programmed their robots, and tell us about how they work together as a team to reach their goals. We know each team has been working tirelessly during the fall season and we look forward to hosting them on November 21, 2015 at the Backyard Blizzard! Backyard Blizzard!

FIRST Lego League (FLL) is well under way here at GA, and our two middle school teams are ready to compete. They are finishing their robot programs and strategies; they are polishing their presentations; they are fabricating their prototypes; they are exhibiting amazing teamwork and cooperation. The Backyard Blizzard, a CT state official qualifying event is being held on Sat. Nov. 22, 2014 here at GA. If you are registered for this event, please visit this page.
