FTC 5017 Wins the MOTIVATE AWARD at CT State Tournament!
On Saturday, February 19, 2013 the second year FTC high school team, participated in the FIRST Tech Challenge Connecticut State Tournament, held at Greens Farms Academy, in Westport, CT. Upon arrival, the girls quickly scouted out teams, passed software and hardware inspection, and rocked the team interview! It was a tough day for them, as they were plagued with mechanical errors, wireless connection failures, and challenging opponents. They team learned a great deal about the durability of their robot design, how to use different strategies of game play, and how to cope with a loss. However, being the upbeat, positive girls that they are, all of whom exude character and congeniality wherever they go, they impressed the judges nonetheless. The team won the prestigious “Motivate Award”, which seems to be a trend for our girls, as this is the second year in a row they earned this award. This award is given to the team with the most spirit, graciousness of game play, and fantastic school and community promotion of FIRST. We are so proud!
